
Methi Puri | Methichya Purya Recipe is a simple easy to make snack or teatime recipe that can be prepared for any occasions instead of normal puri’s.
It is prepared by mixing freshly chopped fenugreek leaves with 3-4 types of flours like wheat flour,bajra flour,besan…..These are then spiced with jeera,ajjwain,chilli powder and turmeric.The good thing about this recipe is that it includes different types of flours that makes it more healthy.
It is very good and nutritious form of breakfast as well as one can carry it on journey.You can have it with pickle or curd.The taste is really fabulous.
A very easy recipe to make at home for breakfast or for tiffin box.

METHI PURI | METHICHYA PURYA RECIPE

INGREDIENTS :
- 2 cups wheat flour/गव्हाचे पीठ
- ½ cup besan/बेसन
- ¼ cup bajra flour/बाजरीचे पीठ
- 1 cup freshly chopped fenugreek/बारीक चिरलेली मेथी
- 1 cup curd (optional)/दही
- 1-2 tbsp green chilli-garlic paste/हिरवी मिरची-लसणाची पेस्ट
- 1 tsp red chilli powder (optional)/लाल मिरची पावडर
- ½ tsp turmeric powder/हळद
- ¼ tsp astoefida/हिंग
- 1 tsp cumin powder/जीरा पावडर
- 1 tsp carom seeds/ओवा
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
- Oil for frying

METHOD :
- First wash the methi/fenugreek leaves with 2-3 waters.
- Chop it finely.
- Next grind 4-5 green chillies and 7-8 cloves of garlic cloves to a fine paste.
- Now in a bowl add the chopped methi leaves.
- To it add the chilli-garlic paste.
- Next add jeera powder,carom seeds,red chilli powder,turmeric powder and hing.
- Now add the curd to it.
- Give everything a nice mix.
- Now add the bajra flour,besan,wheat flour and salt as per your taste.
- Mix everything well.
- Add required amount of water.
- Kneed everything to a semi soft dough.
- Oil the kneeded dough
- Cover and keep it aside for 10-15 minutes.
- After 10-15 minutes kneed the dough again.
- Divide it into equal parts.
- Roll them into small sized balls or make a roti out of the dough and then cut it into puri’s with the help of katori or a round shaped cutter.
- Now roll medium sized puri’s out from this dough.
- Keep the puri’s a bit thick.(Don’t roll the puri’s too thin,they may not get fluffy and also become hard.)
- Meanwhile heat the oil in the kadhai or pan.
- Once oil gets heated up add the puri’s to it.
- Fry them on medium flame till they gets nice and fluffy.
- Fry till they turn golden.
- Remove them into the plate.
- Your healthy and nutritious Methi Puri’s are ready.
- Serve them hot with bowl of curd or pickle as per your choice.
