Bombay Masala Toast Sandwich

How is Bombay Masala Toast Sandwich Made

Bombay Toast is a pressed sandwich layered with green chutney, butter, tomato ketchup, spicy potato filling, fresh sliced vege’s.It is then toasted or grilled in a sandwich toaster.

Bread

I generally prefer plain white bread for sandwhich. But to make it more healthy you can use multigrain bread, whole wheat bread or brown bread.

Butter

This is the key ingredient for sandwich which gives that rich flavour to the sandwich. Also butter brings it all together and brings the taste of sandwich to another level.

For Green Chutney

Green chutney is a condiment made by blending fresh coriander leaves, mint leaves and green chillies which also makes one of the key ingredients needed for the sandwich. It contributes to all the spice and flavour that is needed for a perfect lip smacking sandwich recipe.

For Potato Filling

The potato masala filling is the same masala that is used in popular vada pav. This spicy potato filling makes it special and gives that unique taste to the sandwich. Also in in many chaat centres instead of spicy potato filling slices of boiled potatoes are used.

Vege’s Needed For Sandwich

The veggie’s add both fiber and flavour to the sandwich.Slices of raw vegetables like onion, tomatoes, cucumber, beetroot, carrots and capsicum are used to make the layers in sandwich.

Cheese

Cheese is totally optional. But you can use sliced cheese or chedder to make it more tasty.

Need of Ketchup

Tomato ketchup is just needed for that extra appealing taste.Just keep it ready for serving with sandwich.

Indian Savoury Snack

This is most loved thing after ketchup my girl’s want on the sandwhich. The crispy sev or bhujiya which is nothing but the crispy dry snack made from besan or chickpea flour. This is easily available in the farsaan outlets in the cities.

Assembling for Toast Sandwich

The butter and green chutney is spread over the bread slices. Then the potato filling layer is spread over it.Next the layer of each sliced vegge’s is spread over it.Then the other bread slice that also is buttered and layered with green chutney is kept over this slice.

Toasting Or Grilling

I have a specially used Bombay sandwich toaster that I have bought from the online store. You can use the grill for making the sandwiches. But if both are not available then tawa or pan are also the ideal option.

Serving Suggestions

The toasted sandwiches are cut in four pieces with the help of knife. They are then topped with green chutney, ketchup and the crispy savoury sev or bhujiya.
