Almonds Cookies is one of the healthiest form of cookies for the ingredients used here are really healthier.I always wanted to prepare the maida free cookies.Had tried some but they never gave me the wanted results.

But these cookies were a real winner in all sense because the ingredients used were healthy and also I had no guilt using them.These are made out of whole wheat flour,jaggery,butter/ghee,almonds and dates.A nice healthy form that can be easily prepared at home.The almond and dates gives a crunchy bite to the cookies.Also the jaggery gives a different sweet taste which can be tasted in first bite.And the whole wheat flour or gehu ka atta or ghavache peeth which is easily available in all Indian kitchens makes this cookies more special in form of taste and health.

Another special thing about this recipe is that this was prepared by by 11 years elder daughter on the occasion of Mother’s Day.It gives immense pleasure when this tiny hands makes such special surprises for us.

INGREDIENTS :

  • 1 ¼ cup whole wheat flour/गव्हाचे पीठ /गेहू का आटा
  • 100 gms butter at room temperature /लोणी/मक्खन
  • ¼ cup grated jaggery /गुळ/गुड
  • ½ cup chopped almonds /बदाम
  • ¼ cup chopped dates /खजूर
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp baking powder


METHOD :

  • First chop the almonds and dates.
  • Next in a bowl add the grated jaggery and butter at room temperature.
  • Mix them such that jaggery gets completely melted into the butter.
  • Add chopped almonds and dates.
  • Mix it again.
  • Now sieve whole wheat flour,baking powder and baking soda into the mixture.
  • Mix and form a nice dough.
  • Cover this dough with clean cloth and refrigerate for 20-30 minutes.
  • After this remove from refrigerator and make cookies out of it.
  • Take a small portion of the dough and give it the shape of cookies with your palms.
  • Place this cookies on the tray lined with butter paper.
  • Preheat the oven at 180 degrees for 10-15 minutes.
  • After preheating of oven place the cookies tray for baking.
  • Bake the cookies at 180 degrees for 18-20 minutes or till they turn brown.
  • While baking after 15 minutes turns the cookies upside down and again bake for nxt few minutes so that cookies gets baked evenly from both the sides.
  • After baking is done remove the cookies and let them get cool down.
  • Your Healthy Almonds Cookies are ready.
  • Serve them with tea and enjoy…

RECIPE NOTES :



  • You can use ghee instead of butter.
  • Keep a check on cookies while baking after 15 minutes and see that u turn them to other side so that they get evenly baked.
  • Bake the cookies from other side for just 4-5 minutes.
  • The dates should be finely chopped.
  • You can use readymade jaggery powder also.The proportion of powder is same as that of grated jaggery.
  • Try adding cashew nuts instead of almonds for a different variation..The amount must be same as that of almonds.
