Idli is one of the healthy traditional South Indian Breakfast.Idli is a steamed rice cake which is prepared from the fermented batter of rice and whole white lentils i.e.urad dal.

It is not only popular in India but also all over the world.Idli when eated with Sambhar is a healthy complete meal option. Also it is packed with all nutrients. It has carbohydrates, proteins, minerals, fibres and vitamins also.It is one of the most widely consumed breakfast.

Idli should be served with hot Sambhar and Coconut Chutney.

Here in this recipe we are preparing the Idli’s from Idli Rava which is made from the grains of rice.I find making the Idli’s directly from Idli Rava easier and quicker. Also the Idli’s become more fluffy and soft by this procedure.

Idli’s are prepared from soaked rice and urad dal mixture where the rice is coarsely grinded after soaking and is then mixed with the fine paste of soaked urad dal. Here the grinding of soaked rice is bit time consuming. But it depands on your choice which type you have to adopt.

Both the method of preparing Idli can be adopted. So lets have a quick start towards our Idli recipe.
