It can be done in various forms like with sugar,with jaggery/gul.Here in this recipe we are preparing it with the help of jaggery/gul.

Eating til/sesame seeds during winters have healthy benefits because it provides warmth and energy to the body which is required during the winters.We can also prepare many dishes using sesame seeds/til like,

INGREDIENTS :

  • 1 cup til/sesame seeds
  • 1 cup chikki jaggery/gul (A special type of chikki gul / jaggery is used to make vadi’s)
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 1 tsp cardamon powder

METHOD :

  • In a pan road the til/sesame seeds till they change their colour.
  • Keep the til aside.And let them get cool.
  • Take the ghee in a pan and let it get warmer.
  • Now add the grated jaggery to the pan and give it a nice mix.
  • Let the jaggery melt.
  • Don’t over heat the jaggery.
  • Once it starts melting immidiately put the til into the pan and give it a nice mix.
  • Now turn off the gas and pour the mixture on a flat surface and roll it in thin
  • Now immidiately cut it into square pieces.(on cooling we cannot cut into desired shapes).
  • After cooling remove the square pieces into a plate.
  • Your Til-gul Papdi is ready to serve.

RECIPE NOTES :

  • Use the chikki gul/jaggery to make the vadi’s.
  • This chikki gul brings the stickiness that binds the til/sesame seeds and gul nicely.
